We are a fast growing startup focused on optical sensors and imaging technologies. In our medical business unit, we create novel solutions for ophthalmologists and telemedicine. Currently the team is expanding and offering an opportunity to a student who wants her/his Master Thesis to become reality.

Project description

A high-resolution camera enables novel diagnostic procedures in ophthalmology. Completely new fields of application arise for telemedicine and patient screening. The high precision device requires an automated tracking system to compensate for small movements of the patient.


  • Evaluation and optimization of the camera data
  • Investigation and comparison of various machine vision algorithms for image segmentation to determine the pupil position and to determine the focus position
  • Design of a robot arm or positioning stage for adjusting the alignment deviation
  •  Selection and optimization of the control algorithms for controlling the robot arm


  • Enthusiasm for new technologies, creativity and do-it-yourself
  • Programming skills (C ++, Python, Matlab)
  • Bachelor in Mechatronics or Computer Science

You will be a key player in the design of image processing and computer vision. Together with hardware engineers and medical doctors, you will develop technological concepts, structural requirements and implementations. You will work in an environment that encourages your personal growth and provides opportunities to learn, share knowledge and bring your ideas forward.  

Responsibilities will include

  • Develop software solutions from first prototype to medical product

  • Camera integration (SDK interface, illumination synchronization, image stream and display)

  • Image processing using computer vision algorithms

  • Implement image-based feedback-loops and actuator controls

  • Design an intuitive user interface with focus on usability to facilitate new diagnostic workflows

  • Interface with standardized, clinical data-base systems

  • Documentation according to international requirements for medical devices

Minimum qualifications

  • Good C++ programming skills

  • 2+ years of experience in software development

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Experience in the area of medical technologies, machine vision or robotics

  • Hands-on experience with image processing and computer vision (i.e. OpenCV)

  • Experience in object oriented programming with Python, Java, C# or .NET

We’re looking for a Quality & Regulatory affairs manager that can work with our team of hardware engineers and doctors to bring our medical devices to market. We offer an exciting opportunity in a multinational work environment with English as our company language.

Responsibilities will include

  • Lead, organize and execute all quality and regulatory affairs for the company
  • Responsible for all steps towards CE approval of our product portfolio and implementation of a full QM system according to ISO 13485:2016
  • Coordination of the RA and QM pathway with the notified body and regulatory authorities
  • Define internal processes and coordinate implementation interfacing with R&D, clinical development, product management, sales, and marketing
  • Perform QA role during various stages of product development lifecycle
  • Preparation, execution and follow-up of QM system certification audits, as well as inspections by authorities of the QM system and the technical file of our product portfolio
  • Planning and execution of regular internal audits and supplier audits

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Sciences or a life science related technical field
  • 2+ years dedicated professional experience in medical device companies
  • Fluent in English and German

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in implementing regulatory requirements according to the Medical Device Directive (93/42/EWG) and the Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745
  • Expertise in establishing a QM system according to ISO 13485:2016
  • Proven management experience with strong cross-functional relationship building skills
  • Solution-oriented and analytical thinking to understand complex processes
  • Enthusiastic and inquiring team player with a high degree of flexibility

Salary will be determined based on professional experience; the formal minimum salary according to Austrian Collective Agreement is EUR 38,658
